I am SO excited to share with you this amazing woman. Connie Chapman is a Transformation Coach, Blogger, Writer, Creator and more! I’m honoured to call her a friend and feel blessed that we have connected.

When Connie and I get together we talk deeply, intuitively, passionately for hours. We are both ‘beneath the surface’ type gals. We don’t switch off the ‘coaching’ way that we both have instinctively – we both love to dive deep.  I cherish the connection I have with this gorgeous lady. She is a Transformation Coach and blogger – and many of the beautiful words she posts on her blog make my heart sing! Below I asked Connie to dive into ‘Inspiration’ and she does so from  from truth and reading her words I feel almost as if she was writing about myself. Maybe you’ll feel the same?

Tell us a little about who you are, what you do, how you got here.

I am a life coach, writer, speaker, green juice lover, seeker and inspirer!  I create coaching programs and online courses designed to support women to reconnect with their heart, hear their inner guidance and find their truth so that they can step up, shine their light and create a life they love.

My journey began with an inner yearning that I have had for as long as I can remember. A yearning and curiosity to know more about life, to understand why I am here and to learn how to live out my full potential. I became obsessed with personal development programs and motivational seminars from a young age, and I spent years looking outside of myself, trying to find who I was through my career, my relationship or my body.

After I several years I realised that wasn’t working, so I began looking inwards to connect with who I truly am, to hear my intuition and tap in to what my heart truly desires. This led me to the work I do today and I now have the privilege of supporting others to do the same.

What INSPIRES you?

I feel inspired by practices that enable me to drop in to a deeper space within myself or connect with myself more. Practices like yoga, meditation, reading beautiful books, being out in nature (especially by the beach) all really connect me with that inspired feeling inside of me.

Where do you SOURCE your inspiration?

I used to look outside of myself a lot for that inspiration, but more recently I have been finding it inside of me. I feel so inspired when I allow myself to quieten my mind and really tune in to the magical guidance that is within me. It is in that inner space that I feel so loved, so supported and so complete. Being in that space enables me to be more creative, more at peace and more authentic in everything I do.

How do you USE that inspiration? How does it integrate into your life?

I use it by embodying it. For me it is about bringing that beautiful energy of presence and being-ness in to each moment. I have a tendency (as we all do) to get very caught up in the doing-ness of life. But when I focus more on who I am being in each moment and the energy I am bringing to that moment everything shifts. Life takes on a whole new dimension and it brings so much more joy to what I do.

When it comes to health and wellness what’s important to you?

It is really important for me to listen to my body as I have always been quite sensitive to certain foods. So, I pay attention to how my body responds to things that I eat.

A good night’s sleep is important, along with eating an abundance of greens every day and staying away from foods that don’t really support my body like dairy, sugar and gluten.

I also need a lot of ‘me’ time in order to feel balanced, so this will come though taking time out for meditation, going for long walks on my own or just curling up with a book.

What’s your routine?

My routine varies a little day to day but it typically involves

  • Waking up before the sun (around 5.30am)
  • Starting the day with a big jar of warm water with lemon, apple cider vinegar and ginger
  • A morning meditation
  • A big green smoothie for breakfast
  • Sitting down at my computer to start my day which can include anything from working with 1:1 coaching clients, working on new creative projects, collaborating with amazing women, writing or maybe just simply catching up on emails and admin
  • I love to finish up work by about 4pm and I will then head to an afternoon gym class
  • The evenings are quiet time for me. I tend to eat quite a light dinner and I will then either read a book or spend the evening with my boyfriend

How do you find balance + happiness?

Simply taking time to be in quietness and stillness each day with myself really balances me out and creates a gentle and beautiful sense of happiness and contentment within me as well.

I support myself by being really aware of how I am thinking and seeing the world too. I am always working to become more and more self aware of any niggling negative or fearful thoughts that are playing out. I allow myself to feel and process any emotions that arise in me and then support myself to re-focus on the positive or loving perspective

How do you practice self-love?

By catching myself anytime I have detoured in to fear and then taking some time out to feel that and reconnect with the loving presence that is always within me. It is about remembering who I am – that I am not my body or my stories. When become still and turn inwards I can feel that infinite source of love within me that is the essence of who I am.

What’s your favourite healthy recipe?

I am going through a massive green smoothie phase at the moment and I have found a combination that I absolutely love.

It is: cucumber, lemon, spinach, coconut water, raw vanilla protein powder, cinnamon, kefir yoghurt, super green powder, avocado and maca all whizzed up in the blender.

It is delicious!

What are you non-negotiables when it comes to your lifestyle (food, diet, exercise etc)

I have to eat greens every day. If I miss a day I will start to crave them.  I also have to eat stacks of fresh vegetables every day too.

I stay away from gluten, refined products, foods that are overly processed and white sugar and dairy.

While I don’t necessarily exercise every day, it is a total non-negotiable for me to get physical activity in to my week as many times as I can, whether it is by doing a coastal walk, going to a yoga class, running or hitting the gym.

How do you deal with those moments/days when you are lacking in motivation?

I listen to myself and I allow myself to take a break. I used to try to really push myself beyond those moments, but now I just accept them and allow myself to feel how I feel. I will just take some time out from work and do something nourishing for myself like go for a walk or read  a book.

I also find it useful to really sit with what is coming up for me and use some journaling to explore what it is that is creating those feelings within me.

What’s one thing you wish you could pass onto friends and family about health and wellness?

To be aware that just because some packaging or marketing tells you it is healthy, doesn’t mean it is! I am pretty particular about reading labels and noticing all those sneaky and nasty ingredients that get added in to food. I will only eat something if I know what everything on that ingredient list is, but many of my friend and family aren’t quite that strict! They will eat things that they think are healthy without really knowing what is in it.
