HARNESS THE POWER OF STRENGTH + SOFTNESS


Strength + Softness. Two energies coming together to create harmony in body-mind-spirit.

The Yoga Sutras, written by Patanjali, is a well known book that outlines the art and science of yoga as we navigate towards enlightenment (Samadhi). These sutras serve as a guide, a compass, a map for the inner world journey. A way to peel back layers, to dive into self-enquiry and to develop and enhance our lives.

I recently attended a yoga class where the teacher guided us through a practice carried on the wave of a potent Sutra from Patanjali: STHIRA-SUKHAM ASANAM

In this sutra, Patanjali explains that every yoga posture needs to be balanced with qualities of Sthira  – steady, stable, effort, steadfast, strength and qualities of Sukham – ease, delight, joy and softness.

In today’s VLOG I dive into this idea of Strength + Softness and how that actually translates off the yoga mat and into our lives.

As we play between these two energies and attitudes we find a point of balance. A place of calm, centered and grounded in joy yet not overwhelmed with intensity and hardness.
