Get mystical with Belinda Davidson

Get mystical with Belinda Davidson

Posted March 20, 2014

Do you want to get witchy with me? I bet you’ve never been asked that question before! But truthfully, let’s get mystical! It’s time, isn’t it? Can you feel that there is a major shift going on in the world… people are opening up to ancient truths, to universal energy, to the knowledge that there is more to us than meets the eye. When it comes to spiritual and soulful work, I am constantly surprised by how many more people are talking and walking in this way. And one woman that is leading the mystical way is the incredible Belinda Davidson. I say incredible because… As one of my mentors she’s truly helped me on a profound level – energetically, spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically! She is a medical intuitive and potently psychic – no bullshit here peeps, she is the real deal and not at all ‘woo-w00. (Thankfully!) Belinda is changing the world, one person at a time. Truly. Belinda’s official bio: Belinda Davidson is a well-known psychic, small business owner, author and public speaker. She is founder of The School of the Modern Mystic, a world class, online teaching facility dedicated to helping ‘modern mystics’ embrace spirituality and discover their life purpose. She is also a mentor and consultant, and amongst her private clients are also celebrities, public personalities, doctors and business leaders. She is often referred to as the ‘secret weapon,’ because she has always been able to ‘see into a person’ and know what is not working. Belinda is respected and adored for her practical approach to spirituality. She may be a full-fledged psychic, but there isn’t a woo-woo bone in her body. Pretty Impressive, huh? Well, before I tell you how you can get mystical and learn how to harness your OWN psychic abilities and talents (yep, I kid you not, we all have the power within us – we just need to learn how to unlock it) let me share with you a little interview I did with Belinda. I had the chance to ask Belinda a few questions to get an insight into this amazing women. Seriously, I think she is beyond words… the world (not forgetting myself!) is such a better place with her in it. I’m so grateful she has been gifted with such an incredible psychic ability, and even more appreciative that I have had the chance to work with her directly! I hope you enjoy Belinda’s responses as much as I did! ++ On the fly interview with Belinda I am most inspired by … Courageous people who are willing to face their fears, and move forward in life. What are you non-negotiables when it comes to your lifestyle? Daily chakra cleanse and White Light work. Days when I feel dark, heavy, off-centre are…. “Ego” days, where I need to let go and accept myself more. I often tell myself on those days that, “Where I need to be in life, is right here and now,” and that brings me back into the present moment. I handle those days by… I often tell myself on those days that, “Where I need to be in life, is right here and now,” and that brings me back into the present moment. The one thing I wish I could pass onto friends, family, the world is… Don’t wait to start living. Live! My most pivotal and profound life-changing epiphany was…. And it taught me…. When I realised that my psychic gifts weren’t a curse but a blessing. It taught me that I can use these abilities to help people heal, become psychic too and discover their life’s purpose. I come alive when… I’m alone, in the dark, meditating or drifting in and out of nothingness. (Or when I’m raw dancing). I shrink and feel ‘lost’ when… I compare myself to others or check email or Facebook too many times a say. (Don’t we all! Claire) I believe without a shadow of a doubt…. If you work on your chakras and get them working, your life will become magical! I’m still figuring out… Why I decided to do 6 month courses in The School of the Modern Mystic. People love them but it’s so much work! I believe in the chakras + white light so much because… …they work, and are the most powerful tools for spiritual development I know. (I second that! Claire) Becoming ‘mystical’ is important because By doing this we are re-claiming our psychic and healing abilities. ++ School of the Modern Mystic: Let’s get mystical! Now, tell me… are you keen to get mystical? Want to let out your inner with? I know I do! Me, me, me! I’ve been called, for at least a whole year, to tap into my soul more, to power up my intuitive sight and to learn how to work with ‘energy’ more. So, you may have already seen a few mentions of this ecourse on facebook, but nevertheless I absolutely must tell you about this course! The School of The Modern Mystic is Belinda Davidson’s 6 month training program. This is a course like no other. As Belinda herself says this is not a ‘study’ only course. This is a training in becoming mystical. You will learn how to… Change your energy, and change your life Awaken your inner witch Discover your life’s purpose and learn how to pursue it! Become the greatest version of yourself and serve the world in our best possible way The course focuses on your energetic system – learning how to work with the chakras. It also teaches you about white light and how to channel it and work with it to manifest what you truly desire. You’ll also learn about mindfulness and put it into practice, daily. The best bit is that you are learning from someone who does this on a daily basis – Belinda can see into the energetic body of a person and see their past life history. She also works with white light […] Read more

What are you judging?

What are you judging?

Posted March 18, 2014

What’s with all the judgment? Is it just me or has anyone else been noticing alot of ‘judgment’ flying around? That’s a strange thing to ‘see’ hurling through air space, but nevertheless, I’ve been noticing alot of people laying it on thick as to what they think is good, bad or otherwise. A little story for you: the other week I was signing students into the yoga class I was about to teach when a particular student was commenting that her pass had expired and that it was very ‘un-yogic’ of us not to extend it (which I might add lasts for three months!). When she said ‘un-yogic ‘in her judgy-mc-judge voice, I remember thinking, wow, really – could we also say that you are being un-yogic by judging this business (yes, a studio is still a business!) as un-yogic?! It actually floored me. I laughed it off instead – not concerned with reacting to her judgment. Hand-on-heart, old Claire would’ve have definitely bitten back… and it would’ve been awkward and unnecessary! ++ What’s the deal with people (and I’m not excluding myself here!) believing that their perspective, attitude or way of doing something is RIGHT. Who even came up with this whole right-wrong, black-white crap? Why does tearing someone else down and judging another fellow human being, make us feel better, more important and validated about who we are in the world? It says bucket-loads about our own state of affairs, doesn’t it? To me it screams: I feel small, so I need to make you feel small too I think I’m better than you, it’s the only way I know how to feel good about myself I made a mistake, tearing you down makes me feel better about that I don’t feel important, ever, judging you strokes my ego I am always the important (smartest, funniest, always right) one, which means by default you’re not ++ Let me just reiterate here again, that I’m commenting on myself here just as much as a ‘general’ commentary on judgment. Judgment is something I have worked on and still need to check myself on! And I bet, if you’re damn honest with yourself, you probably need to work on it too. Reflecting on Judgment As I sat, reflecting on the judgment I had witnessed or experienced, it gave me alot to think about. Especially considering that I witnessed ‘judgment’ in full throttle at least two more times that day and since that day, many more times. Scary. So, I started to consider – do I need to shine a light onto judgment for myself? As always, whenever something charges me I choose to see the reflection. What the heck is going on for ME in this? Why am I noticing it, reacting to and even commenting on it. Turn the spotlight on you In that reflection process I pulled out my journal and asked myself a series of questions. You might like to scribble these down too and come back to them later (or now!) when you aware that judgement is pulling on your skirt tails. 1) Who am I in judgment of? 2) What am I in judgment of? 3) What do I believe to be good/right/true? 4) Where have I been unwilling to practice compassion and understanding? 5) How often do I judge myself? ++ It is such a powerful exercise! It showed me the very small, almost ignored moments where I am in automatic judgement mode: the way someone drives, the food someone eats, the choices people make, the belief system someone has. Mostly though, I discovered that I am often in judgment of myself: my worthiness, my ability, my everything. Judgment meets compassion I realise that because judgment is something we are often blindly partaking in – towards ourselves and others – that we need to come at it with a hefy dose of (you know it!) compassion! There is no point reacting to someone’s judgment with a hot head, or beating yourself up for judging others. Soften into the truth of it. Arm up with some love and compassion and come at it from a place of intrigue, inquiry, honesty, willngness. Look past it. Under it. Ask yourself what’s really going. Perhaps the questions above will peel back a few layers. I invite you to check in and ask ‘what’s with all the judgment?’ Ultimately, by reflecting on our own behaviour we are doing the kind of self-enquiry work that creates real transformation. REMEMBER THIS: You are NOT that ‘kind’ person – just because you go into judgement doesn’t make you a person to be ashamed of. It makes you human – one with an ego. Oh that’s right, just like the rest of us! Your turn: Confession time! Finish this sentence in the comments below: *I am mostly in judgment of ________________* love + light, Claire x //This blog post was adapted from a recent newsletter I wrote to my tribe (are you on the list? come join us by signing up below!) about judgment and I had such a huge response that I wanted to share my insights here. FEAR = False Evidence Appearing Real

FEAR = False Evidence Appearing Real

Posted March 11, 2014

FEAR = False Evidence Appearing Real In today’s vlog I pull apart that word – FEAR – that we all know and often live from all too well! I dive into the word FEAR by looking at how it actually represents false evidence, that we have bought into and believe wholeheartedly. ++ Why do we believe in our fears? Why do we buy into our fears with such intensity? How do we work with fear instead of against? How do we loosen the grip fear has on us? ++ I loved every single moment of filming this VLOG for you. And, speaking of fears, I have been busting through one of my own which is to let things unfold naturally, without structure and without planning and perfecting. So, in this video (and with most of my videos over the last 6 months) I chose to speak to you completely intuitively and in-the-flow with this video. Unplanned. Raw. The only thing I knew was that I wanted to talk about FEAR. ++ In the VLOG take a good look at: What I mean by ‘evidence’ – using life as a yogi (and a teacher) to bring this to life The limiting beliefs that hide under that feeling of fear How to use the word FEAR as a mantra and harness it to check in and make different choices How to use FEAR as a teacher Why I don’t always think we should always ‘Feel the FEAR and do it anyway’ Why simply feeling fear is an important process How fear can put you outside of your comfort zone, in a good way! This is all about reframing our perspective on fear, dismantling the control is has over us and harnessing it for our own growth and evolution. EMBRACE YOUR FEMININE SOUL

EMBRACE YOUR FEMININE SOUL

Posted February 24, 2014

Sometimes we read a book, blog post, watch a lecture, or attend a workshop that completely and deeply resonates with us. It’s like a giant bell has been rung from deep within your belly. The reverberations send shock waves of truth and realisation through every layer of your being. I had this experience with a book I read over the summer holidays: Red Hot & Holy – A heretic’s love story by Sera Beak. This book spoke to a part of me that I didn’t even know was listening. This book spoke not only to my spirit, but to the divine feminine soul – the collective, universal consciousness of ‘woman’ living within my truth. I devoured this book. I cried, spontaneously and in a deep ‘soul urge’ sort of way. I feel changed by this book. Honestly, as I write this post I’m not even sure where to begin to bring this to life. It’s taken me over a month to even write this. How do I share something that seems so messy, awkward and foreign, yet familiar and required. What I can say is this, you must read Red Hot & Holy. Now. Especially if you… are a woman feel an urge, a call for a deeper connection are wondering how to embrace your femininity in this masculine world are ready to connect with your sacred soul Sera Beak, amongst many other authors, is writing and expressing a truth that needs to be told. Many of us are on this ‘spiritual’ path trying to tap into ‘spirit’ – me included. Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. This higher self, the infinite, all powerful spirit that is one with all things is part of our truth – we are all part of the universal ‘spirit’. However, Sera Beak shares that the chase of spirit, a more ‘masculine’ energy, can often lead us away from soul – the divine, feminine energy. (When I say masculine and feminine, know that I’m know talking about in the traditional gender role sort of way). “Sera defines the soul as the center of your center, the You of you – your distinct and sovereign divinity, which is directly connected to All That Is. Your soul is your guidance and your grace, your deepest knowing and your toughest truth, your best friend and your beloved. Your soul’s love for you is unmatched by anyone or anything else in this Universe. When you ignite your soul fire, you don’t merely believe, but you know on every level of your being and in every cell of your beautiful body that YOU are the One you’ve been looking for all along”.* The way I interpret this is that the Spirit is everything – infinite, divine, energy and the source of all things. The feminine soul, is what resides within us – a direct line and connection from the soul to the spirit is always there, but the feminine soul is the essence of you. It is our everything. “Soul is embodied essence. Experience ourselves and others in our full humanity. Part animal, part divine. Healing comes through embodiment of the soul. The soul is the feminine side of God. The feminine soul is what grounds us. It loves and accepts us in our totality.” Marion Woodman. How do we embrace our feminine soul + life from that space? Now, I’m not going to pretend that I know how to do this. I feel strongly called to tap into and become besties with my soul, but I’m not even sure that I have invited in or allowed my Divine Feminine Soul to take centre stage before. We live in a very ‘spirit-based’ masculine focused world of strength, intensity, dynamism, structure and rule. We need all of those energies – I’m not knocking them – but somewhere along the way myself and perhaps most women out there have ridden that masculine energy, at the expense of our divine femininity. I’ve taken the words of many authors and leaders on The Divine Feminine Soul to help me shape my perspective. I’m still dipping my toe in and I know that many of you might feel called to do the same. Sara Beak shares that:  Our soul, our divine femininity, requires us to be ‘Out Loud. On Purpose + In Full Service to Life’. Everything that is truly authentic stems from our soul. And yet many of us are disconnected from and cannot truly ‘hear’ our soul nor do we allow our soul to take centre stage. Woman, the feminine; we are bold, loud, irrational, emotional, erotic, strong yet soft, passionate, messy, sensitive, tough, crazy, sexy, insightful, wise, intuitive, pissed off, badass, silly … Living from and embracing our soul is about going full-out in all our feminine glory! Sera Beak talks about the steps we can take to connect to and embody our feminine soul. Start a dialogue with your soul. Let her know that you are here and ready. With all your heart say to your soul: I am ready Turn up the volume on your life I will listen when you call… I love Sera’s encouragement that overtime we’ll “start to discern her voice over the myriad of other voices’. The feminine soul speaks differently to our ego, the language of our spirit or our intellectual minds. She speaks in metaphors, symbols, synchronicities, body and feelings, emotions. She communicates simple but powerful truths; (excerpt from a Keynote speech by Sara Beak) Breath deeper. Cry harder. Laugh louder. Get messy. Get clean. I’m here. You’re not alone. I’ve got your back. Remember, I’m here. To me, the message is loud and clear. Stop trying to transcend your ‘humaness’. Stop trying to rise above your imperfections and the need to fix, improve or change anything. Stop disconnecting from what you really are – ‘part animal, part divine’ and actually USE all that you really are as a way of moving, listening, speaking, touching, loving and experiencing as the divine feminine […] Read more

HARNESS THE POWER OF STRENGTH + SOFTNESS

HARNESS THE POWER OF STRENGTH + SOFTNESS

Posted February 18, 2014

Strength + Softness. Two energies coming together to create harmony in body-mind-spirit. The Yoga Sutras, written by Patanjali, is a well known book that outlines the art and science of yoga as we navigate towards enlightenment (Samadhi). These sutras serve as a guide, a compass, a map for the inner world journey. A way to peel back layers, to dive into self-enquiry and to develop and enhance our lives. I recently attended a yoga class where the teacher guided us through a practice carried on the wave of a potent Sutra from Patanjali: STHIRA-SUKHAM ASANAM In this sutra, Patanjali explains that every yoga posture needs to be balanced with qualities of Sthira  – steady, stable, effort, steadfast, strength and qualities of Sukham – ease, delight, joy and softness. In today’s VLOG I dive into this idea of Strength + Softness and how that actually translates off the yoga mat and into our lives. As we play between these two energies and attitudes we find a point of balance. A place of calm, centered and grounded in joy yet not overwhelmed with intensity and hardness. Click play to watch and to learn more In this video you’ll discover: + How strength + softness relate to surrender + Why we need a balance  + the combination of these two energies + The importance of blending contemplation with action + How to play both energies at different times of our live + How softness is needed and isn’t failure Your turn: Do you need to harness Strength (Sthirah) or Softness (Sukham) more? Which one do you lean towards the most, in this moment? Share below in the comments below. love + light, Claire x Read more

DOES YOUR SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA NEEDS LOVE?

DOES YOUR SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA NEEDS LOVE?

Posted February 17, 2014

Last year I started working with the incredible Belinda Davidson. I have no words to describe this incredible woman, except to say the work she does is powerful and truly life-changing. Like no other.  Together we have set about on a serious mission towards healing, not just on a physical level but on an energetic level – more profound and potent than I can describe. I am in complete awe of this woman. In our first session Belinda (who is a Medical Intuitive and Psychic) picked up that my third chakra – The Solar Plexus Chakra – needed some work. It is something I have personally sensed for a while, but haven’t been able to put words (that’s a first!) to it. Does your solar plexus need love? The solar plexus is our third chakra. It is symbolised by the colour yellow and is located between the bottom of the rib cage and the naval. Our third chakra relates to personal power. Our sense of self and identity. Self-esteem and self confidence. It’s also about how we relate to our surroundings and to others. Our will power and determination, or lack of it, is strongly linked to the Solar Plexus. When this power center is weak, depleted or leaking (it can be too open or too closed) it can show up in our life in a number of ways: Poor self-esteem and confidence Feel co-dependent; lacking independence Struggling to stand up for yourself Unable to say ‘no’ Feeling out of alignment with your truth Difficult knowing what is right for you Lack of stamina and endurance Being impressionable and easily influenced Feel restricted and unable to flow with life Knowing yourself without any doubt Sense of ‘inflation’ – thinking you are better than others Difficulty concentrating and focusing Poor ability to make decisions and judge situations Over sensitive to criticism Overly controlling On a more physical level a Solar Plexus issue can show up in digestive issues, stomach ulcers, adrenal fatigue, allergies, low energy, diabetes, chronic fatigue and anything else related to the organs near the Solar Plexus. ++ Take a moment – can you sense any of the above playing out in your life in a strong way? For me, personally, I have no problem saying ‘no’ or being opinionated, or having open and honest conversations. Moreso there was a lack of certainty around knowing what I want and what is right for me. I was craving a deep, strong, powerful sense of sense. The intuitive part of my personality ensures that I can read others quite easily, but can sometimes draw me down the path of confusion, unsure of what is right for me. Reboot your solar plexus My recent session with Belinda (and after another scan of my chakras) delightfully showed that our work together has dramatically improved my solar plexus. Yew! I feel more in my power, a stronger sense of ‘holding my own’ and level of mindfulness and awareness that is completely refreshing and peaceful. I’ve been flexing the Chakra 3 muscle with focus and intention and I wanted to share with you what I’ve been doing. Even if you aren’t 100% certain if it’s needed, there is no harm in loving your Solar Plexus a little more. 1) Chakra Cleanse meditation Belinda has created the most incredible guided Chakra Cleanse Meditation. 34 minutes of deep energetic cleansing work. I do this daily and can honestly say it has contributed greatly to the healing and restoration of my Solar Plexus. You can get your hands on it here. Click on the image below. P.s I also include a BONUS 3-part Chakra Cleanse in my ebook: INSPIRED – A DIY Retreat Guide to Distil Your Dreams + Clarify Your Visions. 2) Practicing Mindfulness Outside of my daily meditation practice I am devoted to mindfulness as a practice. It’s not always easy but I am allowing myself the gift of the present moment more than ever. Throughout my day I am ‘aware’ in every moment. I notice my emotions, bodily sensations, what is happening around me  – I notice sounds, pay attention to what I can see. My daily morning ritual of gratitude is also a way of dropping into the present moment and open up to the details (the big and the small!) of my life with thanks and appreciation 3) Core strengthening I’ve been including more core work into my yoga + movement practices. Not in the aim for washboard abs but to ignite the fire of personal power and ‘self’ within in. 4) Citrine Crystal I’ve been wearing a Citrine Crystal pendant on a long chain, so it sits near my solar plexus. I also place a citrine crystal on my belly when I’m in a meditation (reclining). When I journal on anything relating to my solar plexus I keep my journal open and set Citrine on top of it, in the sunlight for a few hours. I feel as if this charges up my intentions. I also keep Citrine close by my desk and hold it when I feel a little ungrounded or off centre. 5) Pranayama I’ve been included some powerful yogic pranayama techniques known as Bellows Breath and Breath of Fire hat powerfully utilise the diaphragm and get the Solar Plexus pumping with life and energy. Watch how to do it here. 6) Getting Spicy A few herbs and spices are said to aid the healing of the Solar Plexus – luckily I love them all and can easily include them in my diet. Ginger, peppermint, chamomile, turmeric, cumin, fennel, peppermint I’m either brewing up a tea or sprinkling some spice onto a home cooked meal. 7) Scents for Solar Plexus I burn these oil Lavender, Peppermint and Chamomile regularly (p.s peppermint is beyond divine!) depending on my mood. I also add peppermint to Jojoba oil and massage it into my belly – this helps with stomach cramps and any IBS related issues too, FYI! 8) Healing Light Last but not […] Read more

HOW A YOGA PRACTICE CAN KICKSTART A CLEANER DIET

HOW A YOGA PRACTICE CAN KICKSTART A CLEANER DIET

Posted February 13, 2014

I have to pay homage to Yoga for leading me to true health. Yoga definitely changed my physical body, my breath and my way of thinking and feeling but it has to be said that it taught me more about nutrition than any book or course ever has. Yoga was the first experience that brought to light the reality – the sad truth – that I was not nourishing my body wisely or intuitively. If you’ve been a reader here for a while (thank you!) you’d probably already know that I great up immersed in health. The family business specialised in Middle Eastern Health Foods (tahini, halva, sesame seeds, carob) and my parents and siblings (still to this day) are passionate about good food. Despite that I gave the ‘junk-food, drug-taking, late-night, boozy lifestyle’ a really, really good crack. Good enough to leave my body weak and riddled with IBS, Adrenal Fatigue, Anxiety, early on-set OCD and a whole host of other baddies (stomach ulcer, sads… blah, blah, blah). But this is not a post about what I did to myself – truth be told, I’m grateful for it all – but this is about how the incredible life-saving practice of yoga (a ‘forever-love’ of mine) can retrain the mind in the way we choose eat and the way we relate to food. How Yoga Changes the way you eat Looking back, it all seems so obvious that I underwent an entire overhaul simply by attending class. I want to share this with you in case Yoga has been calling out to you, yet you can’t fully commit. Or maybe you are in need of some gentle transformation. The below outlines exactly how Yoga started to lovingly nudge me towards a cleaner life. Firstly, you begin by avoiding heavy meals before a yoga class. Teaches advise not to eat 1.5 – 2 hours before hand unless you’re eager to meet your meal again in the most unpleasant way! Next you notice how certain foods in your diet come back and bite you on the ass during practice – nauseousness, joint stiffness, headaches. But also after – recovery is slowly, your flexibility seems limited. You then start attending morning yoga classes, which means you consider what you’re eating the night before and most likely get yourself to bed at a healthy hour. Finally you start experimenting with different ‘healthier’ options in an effort to have a more seamless, fluid and easier practice. When I realised that green veggies, more water, less animal protein and less sugar made a HUGE difference as to whether I could touch my toes or sit still in meditation, I started to pour over health magazines for food inspiration. ++ The health industry relentlessly bombards us with a new fad diets, confusing ‘must-dos’ or made-up rules leaving many of us disconnected, baffled and with no real understanding of how to eat instinctively – that is to say, simply fueling and feeding the body so we can grow, feel whole, be nourished and healthy in a way that is right for us, individually. Through yoga there is a natural progression towards making better food choices without the guilt and emotional battering we often put ourselves through. Like all good things it’s a slow, steady and soft transformation. The physical asana (pose) practice creates a deep awareness; deepening our understanding of our body and what it desires. Yoga unfolds is a new found consciousness around nutrition that leaves us with a consistent sense of well-being and even deeper understanding of the foods that cultivate a sluggish, body or overactive unsettled mind. Over time, yoga will encourage its students to discover a more comfortable and balanced relationship with food. It takes time. Be patient, begin to tune into the body and listen. By building discipline in your practice, inviting patience and cultivating compassion you can begin to overcome many of the food obstacles we often face… no matter how formidable they may seem. And we can then start to love our food, and ourselves in a healthier way. ++ Why not start yoga today?
